Ormsby of Scarisbrick was founded in 1961 by John and Philomena Ormsby.
At that time there was no showroom, and no office staff -
only two hard working people with two small children.

The first mail shot was despatched in June 1962 followed by a second
for Christmas and a third in time for Easter the following year.
Thus a cottage industry for the making of Vestments began.

The first general catalogue (a 32 page edition) was published
later that year and two members of staff were engaged.
A showroom was erected in the garden and the business began to grow.

In 1966 a woodworking workshop was rented in Ormskirk,
and in 1970 the present premises on Southport Road,
Scarisbrick were purchased, renovated and extended.

The business became a limited company in 1985 and is now managed
by the youngest son Bruno and daughter Fiona
with Mrs Ormsby senior, now in her 80’s, is still working most days.

John Ormsby sadly passed away in March 2011.

The business is now an all embracing experience,
and our professionalism and work ethic is second to none,
with an efficient and dedicated staff, many of whom have worked with us
for over 20 years, committed to giving every enquiry their personal
and expert attention.

In addition to this our design team are happy to work closely with you
to achieve any special requirements, or unique commissions
for vestments, statues, woodwork or metalwork.
